In many ways this is the ultimate implant treatment. It is now possible to extract a tooth or teeth, immediately insert implants and allow the patient to leave the surgery with replacement teeth all on the same day. This technique is most often (but not exclusively) used to treat the lower jaw, and requires considerable planning before the actual day of surgery. Several implants are installed and a few hours later a complete arch of teeth can be fixed rigidly into place. These teeth are then replaced with a permanent bridge after a suitable healing interval.
